Fiction River has been heckuva a ride. And our journey is far from done. But we need your help, dear readers. Starting September 3, we’re holding a subscription drive, but we’re adding a twist. As we launched this unique magazine via Kickstarter two years ago, we felt it only appropriate that we’d turn back to that platform for this: our first subscription drive.

We’re all very proud of the work we’ve done so far to bring you this original anthology magazine. We’ve published eight regular volumes and one special volume to date in a wide variety of genres, including mystery, science fiction, fantasy and romance. We’ve published seven New York Times bestsellers alongside seven writers who sold their first stories. We’ve published oodles of bestsellers from other lists as well as winners of awards such as the Hugo, Edgar, RITA and more. All told, we’ve published work by 75 different writers, some multiple times, and we’re developing our own stable of writers—folks whose work you have likely come to love as much as we do.

We’ve also made sure this anthology goes where no anthology has gone before: In addition to regular audio editions of our volumes, each and every Fiction River stays in print. Even if you subscribe in Year Three, you can still go back and get our first volume, our fifth volume, our eleventh volume, or anything in between. Talk about a steady stream of fiction!

We’ve also enjoyed great feedback from subscribers to reviewers. Adventures Fantastic says: “[Fiction River] is one of the best and most exciting publications in the field today. Check out an issue and see why I say that.” Astroguyz said: “Christmas Ghosts has plenty to offer by way of cross-genre literary intrigue.”And Publishers Weekly called Christmas Ghosts: “A sugary Christmas treat for those who love romance.” Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine said the contents of Fiction River Special Edition: Crime “suggest high quality throughout.” And Genre Go Round Reviews said of Crime that “[this] fabulous collection runs the genre gamut and more.”

And we have more to come. Long and Short Reviews called our September release, Fiction River: Fantastic Detectives, “a great choice for anyone who loves it when genres are swirled together.”

So, if you haven’t tried Fiction River yet, our Kickstarter subscription drive is a great place to start. And if you already know what a fantastic treat each volume is, now’s a great time to renew. Even if your subscription isn’t running out anytime soon, you ought to take a look at the fantastic rewards we have lined up (including signed books by a number of our amazing Fiction River authors and even a chance to co-edit an anthology yourself!) We’ll simply extend your subscription to add on a year or two. Easy peasy.
